
The lotus flower has been part of the
tradition and religion of Egypt since the ancient times. In fact, it has been the subject of the many rich
Egyptian legends and tales.
The
lotus flower is one of its kind due to the fact that it is the only plant that blooms and bears flowers at the same time. It grows in the mud at the bottom of the water, yet only to rise above in order to yield a most beautiful flower in shades of pure white, pink, or blue.
For a long time, it has been regarded as a symbol of the sun signifying its beginning and rebirth. For during the night, the lotus flower closes and then goes down below the water surface, yet at the break of dawn, it slowly rises opening once again its most exquisite bloom.
